Family law
Caring and realistic legal advice from an experienced, down-to-earth team
Whether at the start of a relationship, or when things go wrong between adults, there are often difficult decisions to make regarding finances, property, future plans and aspirations, businesses, families and children, previous relationships and arrangements, and sometimes health issues.
Our full-time Specialist Family lawyer, Andrew Hill, works with clients throughout the Cumbria and further afield in all aspects of family law, from the start of a relationship to when difficulties are encountered. We advise couples and other family members on Pre-nuptial and Post-nuptial agreements, Cohabitation Agreements, relationship breakdowns, property disputes, separation and divorce, and child arrangements issues, often in very emotional circumstances.
Andrew is supported by Gerry Humphreys, who also has a lot of experience working in family law and helping to support clients through marriage breakdowns.
Andrew and Gerry work as a close-knit, team of caring and experienced Family Law professionals who spend time getting to know their clients and each person’s individual circumstances and offer realistic yet compassionate advice and support.
No two families or situations are the same, so we will spend time getting to know you and listening to you. Our role is to ensure each client’s best interests are achieved, looking not just at the immediate, often emotional situation, but helping to shape a positive future. We always try and look at each situation through ‘your’ eyes not ours, while bringing our years of experience to help you.
As a member of Resolution, the association of family lawyers, Andrew is committed to encouraging a conciliatory approach, and to avoid confrontation and expensive court proceedings where possible. He will explore all options for resolving your matter, including mediation and a Collaborative Law approach and find the solution which best suits you. Andrew is a trained Resolution Together lawyer who can advise and assist both parties where appropriate.
We would like to help you. Feel free to contact Andrew or Gerry by email, providing us with a little information about your circumstances and the matter you need help with. Let us know when is the best time to contact you, and we will be happy to arrange an initial 10 minutes telephone conversation at no cost to you to find out how best we can help you. Alternatively, you can contact Gerry by calling our Kendal Office on 01539 723757 and she will be happy to take your details and arrange an initial meeting or telephone call.
