Temple Heelis’ Legal Expertise Boosted by Newly Qualified Family Lawyer

Leading Lakeland Law Firm Temple Heelis is delighted to announce that specialist Family lawyer Lucy Clarke has now qualified, increasing the firm’s expertise and qualifications in the 3-strong Family team headed by Andrew Hill.

Described as ‘calm, organised, friendly and approachable’, Lucy has worked for Temple Heelis for 3 years and in the Family team for the past 9 months.  With a cool head yet empathetic manner and understanding style, Lucy advises clients at often the most difficult and emotional times in their lives, helping them to look beyond the immediate situation and creating solutions for a positive future.

Temple Heelis’ Family team advise clients on all aspects of pre-nuptial and post-nuptial arrangements, separation and divorce, child arrangements, co-habitation, financial settlements and distribution of assets.

“I love working with people, particularly when people are faced with difficult personal situations,” comments Lucy.  “Undertaking pro bono work while at University when I was studying for a Masters in Law gave me a real insight into people, the financial implications of relationships and the many different circumstances people have.  I have had my heart set on continuing in this field ever since.”

Commenting on Lucy’s success in qualifying as a lawyer, the firm’s Managing Partner Jamie Hamilton says: “Since joining Temple Heelis in 2019 and beginning her training contract in 2020, Lucy has gained experience in all aspects of the law.  While this is part of the normal legal learning process, it is particularly important for Family lawyers.”

Jamie continued “Apart from outstanding client care skills, a Family lawyer needs commercial acumen, knowledge of property and insight into business circumstances because of the many aspects to people’s lives when they are coming together or when relationships end.”  He added “At Temple Heelis, many of our clients have both personal and business assets and interests, which means our Family lawyers need a range of skills and experience.  Lucy has proven herself an exceptional in advising clients and working with colleagues.  I am delighted she has now gained her full legal qualifications.”

Hailing from the South Lakes, Lucy loves the outdoor pursuits and activities in this beautiful part of the country, including open water swimming and hiking.  In fact, she’s a former Great North Swim volunteer.  With a keen interest in environmental responsibilities, Lucy is a key contributor to Temple Heelis’ environmental policies and continuous development for a ‘greener’ way of working.
