RowRunner Challenge

Temple Heelis Solicitors have organised, and are taking part in, a bespoke ‘RowRunner’ challenge to raise money for the Brathay Trust.  On Saturday 21st July 2018, we will be taking to the waters of Lake Windermere in a challenge against Crosby Granger Architects, Moore and Smalley Accountants, the InGroup Kendal and Cumberland Building Society.

We will all row the length of Lake Windermere (and back) covering over 21 miles of water!  It’s expected that the rowing aspect alone will take 6-7 hours to complete.  If that wasn’t enough, two members per team will also race up to the top of Gummer’s How and back, starting from Fell Foot, at the half way mark.

Half of our 28 staff are taking part in the event, split into two teams, using Brathay’s four oared “whalers”.

Team ‘Temple’ includes Richard, Yasmin, Lauren, Peter, Claire, Col and Chelsea, with added man power from Neil of Plain Creative in Kendal.

Team ‘Heelis’ includes Jamie, Robert, Alex, Lizzie, Laura, Tracie and Barry together with Adam of Old Mutual Wealth.

The RowRunner will be no mean feat, but we have confidence that we’ll all make it back, even if we’re not necessarily all in one piece!

We’re fundraising for The Brathay Trust, which is a fantastic local charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people by inspiring them to engage positively in their communities.  Brathay work throughout the UK to inspire people and organisations to achieve and deliver results from their network of locations across the North of England including their inspiring Lake District base, which is where we will begin the RowRunner race from.  To find out more about the work that they do, visit their website here – https://www.brathay.org.uk.
