Temple Heelis Appoints Local Graduate
Former Queen Katherine School pupil Lauren Bowness has just started her Trainee Solicitor Contract with Temple Heelis.
Born and raised in Kendal and then Grayrigg, Lauren joined the firm on a temporary basis in 2017 and was due to leave the area in late 2018 to start her Training Contract at a national firm in Manchester.
However, when offered the chance of switching to a firm that has its’ head office in her home town, and starting her formal training sooner than planned, she did not hesitate.
“I was very pleased when the idea was presented to me and the decision was made really quickly. My family readily supported the change of plan and I had already been made to feel very much at home at Temple Heelis. I knew that I would get the opportunity to learn from experts in a range of legal disciplines that matched the areas of interest I had developed as a student.”
Richard Moore, Director and Training principal adds:-
“We are always looking to recruit local talent where possible. It was particularly pleasing to have recruited Lauren at this point given that she was already set on a career out of the area with a large and well known law firm outside Cumbria.
I think the friendly team we have here and the fact we can offer a varied, interesting and complex range of legal work to our staff, as provided by our commercial and individual clients, were key factors in Lauren’s decision. For our part, we saw someone who had fitted in very well in our team and is already developing into an effective lawyer”.
